I am a senior attorney for a public agency, specializing in litigation and labor & employment issues. ATVN was a huge and meaningful part of my undergrad life, and I’ll never forget the people and stories I was able to cover. I was surprised at how many skills and experiences from ATVN carried over into the legal setting (it’s telling that so many ATVN alumni are now lawyers). Communicating clearly with a broad audience, interviewing people effectively, maintaining trust, and using creative research and problem-solving methods are all key in the newsroom as well as the courtroom.
