I am a national correspondent for CNN. I cover general assignment breaking news, but I have also immigration and U.S. -Mexico Border issues, extensively. I started at CNN in 2006 as a TelePrompTer operator and worked my way up through the network. I got my first break by traveling alone to Uganda, Africa, to report on a series of issues impacting the country. I followed that up by covering the Mexican drug cartels, before moving on to a job as a national desk editor. I later went on to work as a weekend reporter before being hired full-time as a correspondent.
