In the spring of 2014, Barbara Estrada took her talents to Los Angeles, California after high school in Miami, FL. She decided to attend the University of Southern California and major in Broadcast & Digital Journalism with a minor in Spanish. While at Annenberg, she was involved with Annenberg TV News (ATVN) as a Assignment Desk, Web Producer, Multimedia Journalist and International News Anchor.
Barbara is the founder and first president of the student chapter at USC, National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) as well as the Executive Digital Editor of Dímelo, a Latinx digital media outlet that is managed by students at Annenberg. Dímelo has given students of color on-campus an opportunity to create narratives of diversity and of the local communities in Los Angeles. After studying abroad in Spain, she realized her passion for international news and social issues like human rights, racial and gender equality.
