My experience as an Annenberg student was, what I like to call, journalism bootcamp. I worked for Annenberg Media all four years in college. I started spring semester my freshman year working the Assignment Desk. From there, I was a MMJ, anchor (news and weather). My segment for weather titled “Kulture with Keavy” something that was catchy at the time. It all prepared me for the “real world” of journalism.
Now, as a working MMJ and Weekend Anchor in Knoxville I usually turn two packages a day. It’s all possible because of what I learned during my time at USC, from writing to editing to on-air presence.
Good Morning Tennessee, the weekend morning show, is 4 hours Saturday and Sunday. It takes the same skillsets as Reporting, with a more personal relationship with viewers because it’s one-on-one, so to speak, for 4 hours.
In the say way Annenberg Alumni helped me (and continue to help me) I would love to offer my help in any way I can. Please email/tweet/message me–I’ll always answer fellow ATVN-ers. Fight On!
